Why is preschool the better option? If I go into this field, I need to know exactly what type of difference I am making in the world. How exactly am I making a positive impact on these children? What else should I do to make sure these kids are getting as many advantages out of this as I can? All of these are questions I strive to answer as I further my investigation. Based on my findings, I will then conclude what is and isn’t useful for the future of America. I will discover how I can improve the behavior of these children and how it can impact them for a lifetime.
Based on my experience within the early childhood field, I can infer that preschool is such an advantage to children. In this environment they begin developing social, emotional, and academic skills. I believe that when a child is this young, they learn best. For this reason, I believe that at this age they should begin absorbing all these manners and social interactions because I believe that they can last a lifetime.
Throughout my research, I constantly kept hearing only positive things about children attending preschool. I used known websites, such as “Parenting” to gather my information. “Parenting” assesses why you should send your children to school, and why it’s a negative thing not to. It explains that “children’s sense of competence and self-worth grow as they learn to take care of themselves and help others.” However, I was surprised that my mentor was not as convinced about these advantages. Although she responded that she believed that preschool delivers long term academic success, when asked if she believed that children in preschool are more disciplines, she simply responded “somewhat.” I was a bit surprised by this response, because I thought this would have been a definite yes.
Overall, I learned that there may have been some bias from these websites, whom want to persuade parents to take these kids to daycare. I also learned that although preschool has many advantages, they’re not

Based on my findings, I can conclude that preschool is a great advantage for children. I, as an intern, have watched my own kids grow and progress into brilliant toddlers. It has amazed me how much they have learned from the teachers and from each other. Not only have they learned academic skills, but they have also learned emotional skills and social skills such as learning manners, becoming friends with others, following directions and controlling their emotions and not throwing as many tantrums as they did initially. Part of the reason why preschool is important is because “children’s sense of competence and self-worth grow as they learn to take care of themselves and help others.”
As noted in Parents “children’s sense of competence and self-worth grow as they learn to take care of themselves and help others,” which is arguably much of the reason why preschool is such a powerful tool for children. Based on this knowledge, I feel that the importance of preschool should be further enforced. Awareness should be raised on the impacts and benefits it brings children. Preschool just isn’t a place to take your children while you work, it’s rather a beneficial tool for these kids and their future.
